Would you like to connect with our communities, learn more about the important work of our member agencies and make Toronto a better city?
Each fundraising year, Panel Volunteers review member agency funding applications to make funding level recommendations to United Way’s Board of Trustees in support of our member agencies. Panel Volunteers play an important role in ensuring donor dollars are spent according to current and emerging community service needs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Needless to say, the commitment is demanding–but very rewarding. Each Panel Volunteer must attend 12 hours of training in the fall and commit to approximately 60 hours over a five-month period. The peak time–between mid-January to mid-February–requires a minimum commitment of 45 hours. Applicants must complete a detailed application form, attend a personal interview and follow United Way policies and funding criteria. The volunteer review process involves reading funding submissions, and visiting and participating in a review meeting with member agencies.
Please contact United Way’s volunteer coordinator for more information about getting involved with this important volunteer role.
