Prizes

PRIZE PICK UP

Winners can claim prizes in person from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 to Friday, February 8, 2013 at United Way Toronto’s head office, located at 26 Wellington Street East, 2nd Floor, Toronto, ON, M5E 1W9.

Please note that you will not be personally notified when the prizes are ready for pick up. Mark the pick-up dates in your calendar!

United Way Toronto cannot mail out or courier prizes. We reserve the right to substitute prizes for equal or greater value. Prizes are non-cumulative and are awarded based on the categories listed. One prize per eligible participant will be allowed. Prizes are based on individual fundraising totals — not team fundraising totals. Only pledge money submitted by Friday, November 16, 2012 will be eligible for incentive prizes.

Team captains or a designate can pick up all the prizes for your team. Please email us at unitedwayevents@uwgt.org to arrange this. Please allow 24 hours for us to get your package ready.

TOP FUNDRAISING PRIZE

This year’s top fundraiser is Gary McNeil from Metrolinx. Gary has won the ultimate weekend getaway for two! He’ll enjoy a weekend getaway courtesy of VIA Rail and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. He raised a record $87,151 and has been a real supporter of this event for many years. Since 2006, Gary has raised over $200,000 by taking part in the Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way.

RUNNER-UP PRIZE

This year’s Runner-Up Fundraiser is Eric Tripp from BMO. Eric won a gas barbeque courtesy of Enbridge Inc. He has graciously chosen to donate his prize to Toronto Community Hostel.

WINNER OF THE DRAW FOR TOP FUNDRAISERS

The winner of the dinner for two at the award-winning 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower is David Hutchison from DDH Company. David raised $3,280. This year, over 60 people were eligible for this prize!

TOP STUDENT FUNDRAISERS

The top student fundraiser this year was Alisha from The York School. Alisha won a Raleigh Detour 3.5 bike courtesy of cycle butik.

SOCIAL MEDIA GIVEAWAY WINNER

The winner of the 2012 Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way Social Media Giveaway is Michelle Courtemanche! Michelle received a CN Tower Prize pack, including a gift card for two to participate in the popular EdgeWalk, plus two CN Tower general admission passes. Read her winning entry:

This year’s recipients are: Tulsi Dattani, Carol Guppy, Aggie Jenkinson, Sally Lau, Pamela Lobo, Nanthini Namasivayam, Clifford Seymour, and James Zhu.

The recipient of the United Way Toronto Special Events Volunteer Award, which is given to one individual each year for their dedication and passion for United Way events, is Charles Godin Edgecombe.
