THE EVENT SELLS OUT.
The Enbridge CN Tower Student Climb takes place on Thursday,
October 18th from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Studentsclimbers
MUST arrive at the latest by 4:00 PM to climb. It is open
to all primary, secondary and post secondary students wishing
to participate as individuals or as a team. Ask your Student
Council if you already have a school team or form a team
of your own. Download a Student
Challenge Kit or register onlineto form a team..
Each climber must collect and bring a minimum of $25 in
pledges. This climb is limited to 2000 participants so register
early to avoid disappointment.
Waivers: All climbers under the age of 18 must have their
student waiver signed prior to the event, by a parent or
guardian. The teacher or chaperone at the event must then
sign this waiver.
Teachers and chaperones that are climbing must be registered
for the event as part of your team (so a proper wristband
can be issued)
The Corporate Team Challenge takes place on two days:
Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 6:00 PM
until 8:00 PM. Climbers MUST arrive at the latest by 7:00
PM to climb. This climb is designated for online
registrations only. The registration deadline for this
event is 5-:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2007.
Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 6:00 AM
until 11:00 AM. Climbers MUST arrive at the latest by 10:00
AM to climb. You can register your team by fax (416) 777-1500
or online by visiting www.unitedwaytoronto.com. The registration
deadline for this event is 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 10,
2007.*

The Public Climb takes place on Saturday, October 20 from
6:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Climbers MUST arrive at the latest
by 10:00 AM to climb.

Go to the homepage and register.
You will be guided through the registration process. Just
click on the event you wish to participate in. You will
receive a confirmation email once your registration has
been successfully processed. You can then log in as often
as you wish to check your fundraising totals, invite friends
and family to sponsor you. Please make sure to have your
minimum of $50 in paid pledges. Your status will indicate
“Pending” until the minimum $50 in pledges is
submitted online. Once the $50 is raised your status will
indicate “Registered”.

In person: You can register in person
at United Way Greater Toronto located at 26 Wellington Street
East, 11th Floor, Toronto, ON M5E 1W9, from September 10
– October 18, 2007, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday.
Payment can be made using cash, cheque or credit card. Please
make sure to have your minimum of $50 in paid pledges and
that your pledge form is legible and filled out correctly.
There is no registration fee but all participants must
collect and submit a minimum of $50 in pledges on or before
the event day in order to climb.
The only day-of registration permitted is on Saturday,
October 20th, for the Public Climb. To be eligible to climb
the tower, you must submit a minimum $50 in paid pledges
when you check in at the registration desk. However, we
strongly recommend pre-registering. By pre-registering and
submitting your $50 minimum in pledges before 5:00 PM Wednesday,
October 10, 2007, you can avoid the registration line, and
go directly to the waiver signing area and then off to the
tower!!
You cannot register on the day of the Student or Corporate
Challenge. These events always sell-out in advance. To ensure
your spot, please register by Wednesday, October 10 2007.
Yes. Typically, the Team Challenge events always sell out.
As with all our Climb events, space is limited so be sure
to register by Wednesday, October 10, 2007 to guarantee
your spot at the tower.
There are no pre-designated climb times. To ensure less
waiting at the base of the tower, arrive early!
When you register and submit a minimum of $50 in pledges
by 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 10th, you will receive your
wristband by either Canada Post or Purolator Courier. Your
wristband is your admittance to the Enbridge CN Tower Climb.
The colour of your wristband indicates your specific Climb
day.
Student and Team Challenge Wristbands: Your wristbands will
be couriered to your Team Captain.
Light Blue – Student Challenge (Thursday, October
18)
White – Corporate Challenge (Thursday, October 18),
Orange – Public Climb (Saturday, October 20),
Red – Corporate Challenge (Sunday, October 21)
The CN Tower requires all participants to sign a waiver
before climbing the tower. This waiver must be signed at
the event, on the day of the event. Once you have signed
the waiver, we will stamp your wristband and you will be
permitted to climb the tower.
For insurance and security purposes all climbers must sign
a waiver in the Atrium prior to climbing the Tower. All
climbers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by at least
one responsible adult, 21 years of age or older. Waivers
must be signed by a legal guardian prior to the event, by
the climber and responsible adult at the event. Those 18
years of age and older can complete their own waiver at
the event.
* For the Student Climb on Thursday, October 18th All
students must have all appropriate signatures in order to

Yes. Enter your login information using last year's user
ID and password. If you have forgotten your password, then
click on “forgot password” and this will be
emailed to you. Once you have successfully logged in, you
will be taken to the “Welcome Back” screen.
From here you can go back to your previous registration
information and make changes if necessary. You can then
re-register for this year’s Enbridge CN Tower Climb.
As long as you have all of the required information for
the participant, you can register others for the Enbridge
CN Tower Climb. Remember that each person must submit a
minimum of $50 to participate.
You can change your contact information online by logging
in and clicking the “Edit My Profile” link in
the top right-hand corner of the dashboard.
Go to the homepage and “Log
In” on the side menu. Enter your user ID and password
and you will be logged in to your personal fundraising site.
If you would like to cancel your registration, please contact
us at unitedwayevents@uwgt.org
to let us know. Unfortunately, we are not able to refund
any donations that have been received by United Way of Greater
Toronto prior to the time of your cancellation. Please let
your potential sponsors know that you have cancelled.
Click “Forgot Password” on the homepage.
Type in your user ID and click submit. Your login information
will be sent to your personal e-mail address. If you can't
remember your user ID please contact unitedwayevents@uwgt.org
Pending status means that you have registered for the event,
but you have not raised a minimum of $50 online or sent/faxed
in your registration and funds. In order to be pre-registered,
you must ensure that you have raised a minimum of $50 online
before 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2007 if you would
like your wristband sent to you.
Each participant who raises a minimum of $250 and submits
all pledges on or before 5:00 PM Friday, November 23, 2007,
5:00 PM is eligible for a gift card. Gift cards will be
issued to participants who reach the $250, $500, $750, $1000
and $2500+ fundraising levels. Prizes are not cumulative.
Climbers are NOT permitted to carry anything up the stairwell:
water bottles, camel packs, backpacks, infants/children,
cell phones, cameras or any electronic devices or portable
music devices such as MP3 players, iPODs,
etc. will not be permitted. This will be strictly enforced.
Fanny packs will be permitted for the purposes of carrying
identification and keys ONLY. Fanny packs will be inspected.
Hydrating stations will be provided just before climbing and once you reach the top.
There will be a coat/bag check in the Atrium. This area
gets very busy. If possible, please bring as little as possible
to the event to lessen the chances of lost or misplaced
articles.*

TEAM INFORMATION
The only event where online registration is mandatory is
on Thursday, October 18th for the Corporate Team Challenge.
For all other Team events you can register using the Team
Challenge Kit or you can request a kit by emailing us
at unitedwayevents@uwgt.org.
Just manually fill it out, legibly please, the Team Registration
page and fax it into United Way of Greater Toronto at (416)
777-1500 no later than 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 10th,
2007.
Click on the appropriate Team Challenge Button (Corporate
or Student)
Click on “Register now!”
Select the “Create a team” option
Complete the “Team name”, “Team description”
and “Team goal” fields.
Fill in your personal information and your account information.
Once your registration is confirmed, you should see a “Congratulations!”
message and details of your personal and team information.
You will receive a confirmation email in your email inbox;
it will provide you with a quick link to your team info
page.
Now you can invite others to join your team.
Note: Please keep a record of your user
name and password so you can log in again to check on your
team status and fundraising achievements.
DAY OF INFORMATION
All participants must check in at the Atrium before climbing
the tower. It is here where you are required to sign a waiver
prior to entering the stairwell. The Atrium is located between
Union Station and the CN
Tower. There is parking along Front Street or by the
Rogers Centre.
The closest lot is the south lot of the Metro Toronto Convention
Centre (enter off Lower Simcoe from Bremner Blvd or Lakeshore
Blvd).
There will be a coat/bag check in the Atrium. If possible,
please bring as little as possible to the event to lessen
the chances of lost or misplaced articles. *
Volunteers, Event Staff, Security and CN Tower Staff cannot
hold personal items for climbers.

Once you have conquered the Tower, you will be treated
to a bottle of water. The top of the tower can get very
busy during the climb so we ask, in the interest of public
safety, that you make your way towards the elevators to
go back down to the base. You will receive your official
Enbridge CN Tower Climb t-shirt with your climb time, once
back in the Atrium. Be sure to hold on to your time card.
For Climb veterans please note the location change of the
T-Shirt and Timing area.
This year the T-Shirt and Timing area will be located in
the Skywalk. Please ensure that you hold on to your time
card once you have climbed the tower!
Multiple climbs are not permitted.
DONATION INFORMATION
We strongly recommend using our online donation system.
Our Web site is secure and your donors will have their e-receipts
emailed to them immediately. Fundraising updates will appear
on the participant’s page instantly.
If you prefer the traditional method, you can also submit
cash, cheques and credit card donations directly to the
participant. Be sure that all of your contact information
is filled out so it is legible and correct so a tax receipt
can be issued.
Donations can be made securely, and tax receipts are issued
to your sponsors instantly. Here’s how it works:
1. Click on “Sponsor”.
This will take you to the search page.
2. Search for a participant to donate to. Enter all or
part of the person’s name you are searching for and
click Search.
3. From the search list, click the name of the person you
want to donate to. This will take you to their personal
fundraising page. From here you can begin the donation process.
4. On the donation form, enter your contact information,
complete your credit card information and click the Donate
Now button.
5. Your donation will be processed and you will receive
an e-mail acknowledging your donation as well as an electronic
tax receipt in PDF format. Please retain your tax receipt
for your tax records.
If you do not see your tax receipt in your e-mail's Imbox
check the Junk Mail folder as some e-mail systems may filter
out the e-mail attachment. If you do not receive a tax receipt
please contact at unitedwayevents@uwgt.org
Do not mail cash donations. If you would like to make a
cash donation, please submit cash or cheque directly to
the participant you would like to sponsor. Make sure your
contact information is filled out on their pledge form so
that you get a tax receipt.
Yes. If you are writing a cheque to cover the amount you
would like to pledge, please make it out to “United
Way of Greater Toronto” and mail it directly to our
offices along with a pledge form that includes the name
of the participant that you are sponsoring.
To ensure a tax receipt is issued, please check that the
pledge form is legible and the runner’s name is spelled
correctly.

Sponsors who donate $20 or more are eligible for a tax
receipt. Please ensure that the pledge form is filled out

We recommend using our online donation system. Our web
site is secure and your donors will have their e-receipts
emailed to them instantly! Your personal page will identify
new donations immediately.

form. Be sure that all information is correctly filled in
for each donor.
Do not mail cash donations. If you receive cash donations,
write a cheque to cover the amount (make it out to United
Way of Greater Toronto) or fill in your credit card information
on the pledge form to cover the amount. Be sure to attach/send
the completed pledge form with the correct contact information
and amounts from each sponsor so that each of them can get
their tax receipt mailed to them.
Bring cash to our offices in an envelope before 5:00 PM
October 10, 2007 along with your completed pledge form.
You will receive your wristband at that time.
*TIP: To avoid registration line-ups on
your climb day, submit your minimum $50 in pledges online,
by fax or by mail before the October 10, 2007 deadline to
pre-register. If you submit your minimum $50 by 5:00
PM October 10, 2007 we will send you by mail or
courier, your wristband(s). Post-climb pledges can be submitted
to United Way until November 23, 2007 in order to qualify
for incentive prizes.
If you have already fully pre-registered, we recommend
that you do not drop off additional cash pledges on Climb
Day. To avoid lengthy line-ups, drop your additional pledge
money off at United Way offices after Climb Day.
Do not mail cash donations. If you would like to make a
cash donation, please submit cash or cheque directly to
the participant you would like to sponsor. Make sure your
contact information is filled out on their pledge form so
that you get a tax receipt.
Sponsors who pledge a minimum of $20 or more are eligible
for a tax receipt. To ensure timely delivery of the receipt,
ensure your details are filled out in full and the writing
is legible.
Online donors will be issued an electronic tax receipt
instantly via email.
If you did not receive your tax receipt, or if you have
lost it, e-mail us at unitedwayevents@uwgt.org
and we will re-issue a receipt if necessary.
Yes, each participant must collect and submit a minimum
of $50 in pledges to participate.
mail or deliver them in person to our offices in Toronto
(do not mail cash). Cheques should be made payable to "United
Way of Greater Toronto". If your donors would like
to receive a tax receipt, please include their name, mailing
address and phone number on the pledge form. When mailing
in donations, or when submitting them on the day of your
event, please issue one cheque to cover all donations.
If you have registered online, and have raised offline
donations (cheques or cash), you can still keep track of
the funds and add them to your online fundraising total
on your personal page. Just click “Offline Donations”
and add in the amounts.
*Remember: If you enter the information
online it does not mean that this fundraising is considered
VERIFIED funds and will not be considered
VERIFIED until they are handed in at registration
on the day of the Climb, or submitted to United Way of Greater
Toronto. This offline donation-tracking tool is for your
reference only and will not change your actual fundraising
status.
Once funds have been received by United Way of Greater
Toronto, funds are considered verified. Only funds collected
online and paid using a credit card are verified immediately.
Funds collected by cash or cheque are not verified until
they are received by United Way of Greater Toronto –
even if these amounts are added to your online fundraising
page. If you choose to keep track of your fundraising by
entering offline donations on your online personal page,
keep in mind that only money that is received by United
Way of Greater Toronto (online or dropped off in person)
will get tallied up to go towards your final fundraising
total.
*Please note: If you do use the online
tool to track all of your fundraising, only funds collected
using the online system will count towards your goal until
your cash funds are submitted to United Way.
Example: You have raised $40 online, and
$10 offline; you must submit the cash funds to United Way
by October 10, 2007 to be confirmed as pre-registered.
Registering on-line allows you to manage your fundraising
efforts through our user-friendly online system. The site
allows you to personalize your Website, join a team and
send emails to your friends and family asking them to sponsor
your run. Your page will update automatically so you can
track your fundraising goal.
You can ask your family and friends to sponsor you by sending
an email from our online registration system. This will
provide your sponsors with more information about your participation
in the Enbridge CN Tower Climb. You can send a personalized
message by copying the email address into the box on the
“Solicit Sponsors” page, type in your personal
message (not mandatory) and press “Send email”.
If you have a lot of contacts, or if there are strict firewalls
at your place of work, you may want to send your e-mails
from your personal e-mail account. Before you do this, send
yourself a fundraising e-mail through the online system
as per the instructions outlined in the above. Once you
receive this e-mail you can forward it on to contacts from
your Outlook or from your personal email account. This e-mail
will include your personal fundraising address link. E-mail
recipients will be able to click on this link and make a
donation directly to you.
Your donors will automatically receive a thank-you from
United Way confirming their donation. You can also send
personalized thank-yous. Just follow the instructions on
the Sponsor Page.
Cheques should be made payable to “United Way of
Greater Toronto” and given directly to the participant
taking part in the climb. The runner should attach the cheque/cash
to their pledge form and submit them with the rest of their
funds to United Way Greater Toronto. Please ensure that
all sponsors have filled out their full mailing address
for tax receipts.
