United Way Toronto was one of the first charities in the country to be accredited under Imagine Canada’s national Standards Program — leading the way in safeguarding donor rights by demonstrating the highest degree of transparency and accountability.
The Standards Program protects the interests of the public by evaluating charities’ performance in five key areas:
- Financial accountability
- Fundraising standards
- Human resources
- Volunteer management
To successfully receive accreditation, organizations must submit an application that is assessed and approved by a peer review panel. United Way Toronto has demonstrated compliance with the code and in many cases exceeded industry standards.
United Way’s accreditation in the Standards program is an important recognition of our success in striving for the highest levels of transparency, accountability and impact.
